A seminar was organized by our faculty on November 29, 2024, at the Sağlık Kültür Spor Daire Başkanlığı Avşar Han Cinema Hall for Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students under the coordination of Lecturer İlhan AVCU. The seminar on 'Professional Knife Training' was conducted by 'PİRGE Academy Corporate Training Specialist' Fırat Erbil. Information was provided on the products of the Pirge Knife company, production stages, basic knives and equipment used in the kitchen, color coding in accordance with the HACCP food regulation, honing and sharpening of knives, important factors in knife selection, pastry materials, and knife maintenance. In the seminar organized to contribute to the professional development of students, techniques for honing knives were demonstrated practically. Students who answered the questions correctly during the seminar, which had high interest and participation, were awarded a chef's knife.
