For our Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students, a technical trip was organized to the ancient city of Sagalassos, which is one of the most well-preserved cities since it was abandoned and was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2009, together with Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Kadir ÇETİN and under the guidance of Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Salih SOSLU from the Archaeology department. The trip was held on November 4, 2023. During the trip, our students gained information about the agora of the ancient city, which carries traces of 3000 years of history, the Antonine Fountain, which uses 7 different types of stones, the Neon Library, the statues of Ares, Hercules, Hermes, Zeus, Athena, and Poseidon, the Roman bath, and the world's highest-altitude theater.

We thank Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Salih SOSLU for his contributions, who, with his unique narration, brought to life and concretized in the minds of our students the speeches of the people who previously lived in the ancient city of Sagalassos, one of the art centers of Ancient Rome with its magnificent and qualified structures, the shops in the agora, and the voices of the sellers in the luxurious market called macellum.

Thanks to this trip, our students had the opportunity to closely recognize the historical, cultural, and architectural richness of the ancient city of Sagalassos. We thank everyone who participated in and contributed to our trip, which was both educational and entertaining.
