Tourism Talk at MAKÜ Faculty of Tourism: With the Participation of POYD President Hakan Saatçioğlu

Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Tourism hosted an important event to address current developments in the sector and future projections. The event, held in the Faculty's Conference Hall, featured Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD) President Hakan Saatçioğlu as a guest speaker.

In his speech, where he thoroughly addressed the dynamics and challenges of the tourism sector, Hakan Saatçioğlu emphasized the importance of innovative approaches in the sector. Saatçioğlu, stating that tourism is not only an economic activity but also a tool for cultural interaction, highlighted that sustainable tourism is the key to the future.

In his speech, Saatçioğlu expressed that the tourism sector has been reshaped in the post-pandemic period and that the role of digitalization has increased in this process, evaluating the impact of technological innovations on hospitality and tourism services. He also touched upon the strategic steps that need to be taken for Turkey to utilize its tourism potential more effectively.

The event attracted great interest from students and academics. At the end of the talk, participants had the opportunity to ask questions to Hakan Saatçioğlu, one of the leading figures in the sector. It was emphasized that such events are of great importance in increasing students' awareness of the sector and guiding them in their career planning.

MAKÜ Faculty of Tourism officials stated that such events will continue, expressing that efforts to bring together professionals in the sector with students will persist. In this way, it is aimed for students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical applications and to prepare more equipped for the sector.
