A cooperation protocol was signed between Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) and the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD) to support the professional development of students and to develop joint projects aimed at the sector. The protocol aims to contribute to the practical training processes of students while increasing the qualified workforce in the tourism sector.
Contribution to the Tourism Sector
The protocol signed by MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and POYD President Hakan Saatçioğlu once again emphasizes the importance of university-sector cooperation. Both names expressed their belief that the protocol will add value to Turkish tourism in the long term.
Sectoral Development and Academic Support
This cooperation will contribute not only to the development of students but also to the sector. Academic studies will be shaped according to the needs of the tourism sector, and students will be familiar with the current dynamics of the sector when they graduate.
Internship and Practice Opportunities
Internship and practice opportunities that allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice will enable graduates to achieve a stronger position in the labor market.
Innovative Solutions with Joint Projects
Within the scope of the protocol, both institutions will develop joint projects aiming to offer innovative solutions by combining their resources. These projects will strengthen the research capacity of both the sector and the university.
Qualified Workforce and Competitive Power
With the combination of MAKÜ's academic accumulation and POYD's sectoral experience, it will contribute to increasing the qualified workforce in the tourism sector. This situation will also positively affect Turkey's competitive power in tourism.
Example Cooperation
This cooperation is considered a successful example of university-sector integration, and similar efforts are expected to be encouraged in other fields.
