Announcement About 2024 YKS Placement Results

Dear Student,

 

Welcome to our university. We congratulate you for choosing our university for your higher education and wish you continued success.

 

Students who have earned the right to register at our university according to the 2024 YKS placement results can register electronically with their e-Government passwords or, if they wish, they can come to our university and register in person.

 

REGISTRATION DATES

 

- Electronic Registrations: 19-21 August 2024 between these dates with e-Government passwords, registration procedures will be made from the Higher Education Board section by logging into www.turkiye.gov.tr.

 

- In-Person Registrations: 19-23 August 2024 between these dates, they can come to our University and register in person.

 

No documents will be requested from our students who complete their registration via e-Government.

 

Students who have completed their registration via e-Government do not need to apply to our University separately for registration procedures.

 

* Candidates who do not register within the specified dates cannot claim any rights. Candidates who do not complete their registration procedures on the relevant dates will lose their right to register.

 

The day after the registration process you can log into the Student Information System (OBS) by logging into net.mehmetakif.edu.tr/welcome with your e-Government password. You can get a Student Document via e-Government.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR IN-PERSON REGISTRATION

 

  1. Original of T.C. Identity card (The candidate must have it with him.) 
  2. Original or certified copy of the diploma received from the secondary education institution from which the candidate graduated or a new graduation certificate
  3. If the candidate has been placed with an additional score but the field is not specified in his/her diploma or graduation certificate, an official document showing from which school and field he/she graduated (For graduates of METEM programs, the name of the center issuing the diploma is written as the school name on their diplomas.)
  4. 4 photos of 4.5 cm x 6 cm size

 

INFORMATION ABOUT IN-PERSON REGISTRATION

  1. Candidates must apply in person for registration (except for electronic registration). Registration is not made by mail.
  2. Unapproved copies or photocopies of the documents requested for registration are not accepted.
  3. If the documents are incomplete, registration will not be made.
  4. A candidate who does not register within the specified dates cannot claim any rights.
  5. Higher education institutions may request a health board report from the candidates who will register if it is included in the conditions and explanations of the program. If it is not included in the conditions and explanations of the program, a health board report cannot be requested.
  6. Universities are authorized to take necessary legal actions against candidates who register by making false statements.

 

Since you cannot be registered in two associate degree or two undergraduate programs at the same time, candidates in this situation need to cut off their relations with the program they are registered in order to register for the program they have won.  

 

Candidates who register for programs with a compulsory foreign language (English) preparatory class need to follow the announcements on the website of our University's School of Foreign Languages regarding the Foreign Language Level Determination Exam and Foreign Language Exemption Exam at https://ydyo.mehmetakif.edu.tr/.

 

Candidates who have won the right to register for a higher education program but are at the graduation stage in secondary education institutions, associate degree programs or undergraduate programs and will take internship, make-up or single course exams will have their temporary registrations made at higher education institutions on the specified dates. If these candidates present their documents related to their graduation to the higher education institution by December 31, 2024, and if the candidates who are students of Open Education High Schools and have placed in a higher education institution present their documents related to their graduation to the higher education institution by January 31, 2025, their main registrations will be made. Those who do not document their graduation by this date will have their temporary registrations deleted, and the registrations of those who are in this situation and do not make their temporary registrations on the specified dates will not be made.

COURSE REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

Between 9- 16 September 2024 our students need to select and register courses from the OBS system.

MILITARY STATUS

For candidates whose status falls into one of the following items;

 a) Those who lose their right to postpone their military service according to the provisions of the 7179 Military Service Law and the principle orders published by the Ministry of National Defense on this subject,

 b) Those who have completed a two or three-year higher education program and want to enter another higher education program with a duration of less than four years, but have not done their military service (Candidates who have graduated from a two or three-year higher education program and have not done their military service can apply for the 2024-YKS to enter a higher education program with a duration of four years or more.),

 c) Candidates who have completed a higher education program with a duration of four years or more and have not done their military service,

If they are placed in any higher education program as a result of the 2024-YKS, these candidates' registrations will be made. However, if the military service of these candidates is deferred, they will be able to continue their education in the program they have won the right to register until the end of their deferment periods, and if their deferment periods end, they will lose their right to defer military service, and the registrations of these candidates will be frozen and they will be able to continue their education after they have done their military service.
